We teach Isshin-Ryū Karate, a style founded by Tatsuo Shimabuku in 1956 in Okinawa, Japan. Isshin-Ryū, meaning “One Heart Way,” blends elements of Shorin-Ryū, Goju-Ryū, and Kobudō (traditional Okinawan weapons). Our training emphasizes practical techniques and core values like respect, humility, and perseverance, preserving the timeless principles of this martial art for modern practitioners.

Founded in 2015, Bennati’s Martial Arts has been dedicated to providing high-quality martial arts training rooted in the art of Isshin-Ryū Karate. Led by Kyoshi Bennati, a 7th-degree black belt with over 30 years of experience, our dojo embodies a passion for teaching and excellence.

We want students to continue because they value their training. Membership does not require a long-term contract.

Belts are earned, not purchased. Testing, earned belts, and program patches are included with membership.

Students receive structured instruction from trained martial artists under the leadership of Kyoshi Bennati.

Instructors provide individual guidance and help students work through challenges as they progress.

Our dojo hosts regular events, including picnics, holiday parties, tournaments, and our annual family campout.

We accept funding from all major local charter schools and help families understand the approval process.

Our Tiny Tigers program is for ages 4 and 5. We may evaluate children as young as 3½, but placement is not guaranteed. Children should be potty trained and ready to participate in a structured class.
We offer two free trial classes to every new student. Choose the days and times that work best for you, and we’ll get your classes scheduled. No payment is required, and there is no pressure to enroll. Before attending, trial students must complete a waiver and should wear comfortable clothing. If you decide to enroll, a karate uniform (gi) is provided.
You can schedule your first trial class through our online scheduler found here. You are also welcome to call us at 530-820-3232 or email bennatismartialarts@gmail.com for help.

When students become sparring eligible, they will need to complete their sparring set. Down the line, upon advancing to weapons at Green Belt (ages 8 & up), students will need to purchase their own weapons (Bo and Sai). Apart from optional (but encouraged) Tournaments, our pricing is all-inclusive. Each of these items is available for purchase at our proshop located in the Dojo.
Our program is designed around attending at least two classes per week to ensure steady progress and advancement.
Students who attend less frequently may find it difficult to progress through the curriculum. To support families with unusual schedules, we offer makeup classes and a Flex program to help students train consistently and succeed.
We understand that life happens. If you are unable to attend a class, you're welcome to make it up. Make-up classes can be scheduled through our online scheduler under 'Student Resources' in the drop-down menu. It's recommended to make up classes promptly to stay on track.

Each individual embarks on a unique Martial Arts journey. Consistency is key to ensuring a rewarding and enriching experience. In Martial Arts, there is no break; consistent attendance is crucial for preparedness in testing. Regular at-home practice enhances the synergy of body and mind memory. A lack of attendance and practice can result in a longer, sporadic, and often unmotivated journey.
